The Texas A&M University network is governed by rules covering responsibilities when connecting to the network. All Texas A&M students must follow these rules while using the campus network. Ignorance of the rules is not a valid excuse. Please review the rules as you begin your semester to avoid legal consequences.
Using unapproved network devices in Texas A&M residence halls is strictly prohibited.
Router - Bring a router if you need to connect more than one device to the internet. Your router must have the ability to turn off its wireless signal. See instructions on setting up a router.
Extra-long Ethernet Cables - To connect your tech devices to your router and to the internet, we recommend cables approximately 20 feet long to give you the most flexibility in your room. Learn more.
To see a complete list of devices that are allowed in the residence halls and learn how to set them up properly, visit TAMU WiFi for Residence Halls.
