Project Purpose
To improve the consistency, efficiency, and security of endpoint management, Technology Services will implement a unified Apple Device Management platform. The project will reduce technology costs and redundant administrative overhead while improving customer experience.
Project Implementation
Jamf Pro will be implemented as a unified Apple Device Management platform. This tool will unify 17 existing Jamf instances, representing 5,200 managed devices, across Texas A&M University and approximately 2,500 existing unmanaged Apple devices across campus.
Project Roadmap
- Early Adopter Migrations: March – April 2023
- Non-Academic Units: April – May 2023
- Enrollment Freeze for Finals & Grades Due: May 3–15th
- Academic Units: June – July 2023
- Computer Labs & Deferred Device Migrations: Summer 2023
- Enrollment of unmanaged devices: Ongoing through 2024
Apple Device Management @ Texas A&M
The Unified Apple Device Management service lets Technology Services manage and secure Apple devices across campus with minimal customer interruptions and optimal device security.

- Privileges App – Quickly elevate an account to administrator access.
