You can use Copilot Chat to help writing emails, reports, and other text, generate images based on natural language descriptions, or upload documents and images for extracting information and answering questions. To ensure data is protected, you must log in with your NetID and password.

Tool: Microsoft 365 Copilot
Description: Microsoft 365 (M365) Copilot is an additional license of an AI assistant integrated into M365 apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, powered by GPT-4 from OpenAI. You can use it to generate draft content directly in Word, Outlook and Teams, use AI to analyze data in Excel, and create presentations in PowerPoint, as well as other uses. Learn more about the Microsoft 365 Copilot license and how Texas A&M employees are pilot testing this product. Once purchased, the Copilot license begins to appear in your Microsoft apps. There is no need to download or install anything.
Availability: Available to faculty and staff.
Pricing: $360 per year (prorated based on purchase date each fiscal year)

Tool: Google Gemini with Data Protection
Description: Gemini (with data protection) is an AI chatbot developed by Google. When logged in with your Texas A&M account, the data protection is activated. Gemini can simulate human conversations using natural language processing and machine learning. Gemini is designed around search and aims to allow for more natural language queries, rather than keywords, for search. Instead of just giving a list of answers, it provides context to the responses. It is also designed to help with follow-up questions -- something new to search. To ensure data is protected, you must log in with your NetID and password.
Google Gemini can be used for a variety of tasks, including:
- Generating text, such as articles, code, scripts, musical pieces, email, letters, etc.
- Translating languages
- Writing different kinds of creative content
- Answering your questions in an informative way

Tool: Google NotebookLM with Data Protection
Description: NotebookLM is an AI-powered tool that helps you research, write and organize information. It uses Google's advanced Large Language Models (LLMs) to help analyze, synthesize, and create content from uploaded documents. To ensure data is protected, you must log in with your NetID and password.
NotebookLM can be used for a variety of tasks, including:
- Organizing separate projects or topics
- Understanding your documents deeply
- Combining and questioning information within your files
- Presenting your documents as summaries of your notebooks in a podcast-like format with two speakers in 5 to 10-minute conversation
- Generating summaries, briefing documents, timelines, FAQs, and study guides from your uploaded sources
- Easily searching or locating specific information within your notes by chatting with the AI

AI development platforms are technical environments that allow users to build, train, deploy and manage AI applications using pre-built foundation models (FMs) from various providers via an API. Use your own data to quickly create chatbots, automated content creation, etc.
Availability: Available to employees. Requires FAMIS account. Employees can request accounts for students who need to assist them.
Pricing: Costs are consumption based and vary significantly depending on what you're doing. Fees are billed through FAMIS accounts.
How to Access: Texas A&M University provides secure access to Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure through its Enterprise Computing Environment. Request an account in any of the third-party platforms to get access to the associated AI development platforms.

AI development hubs are technical environments that offer a more comprehensive toolset for customizing, testing and deploying generative AI models. In addition to accessing pre-built foundation models (FMs), developers can customize and refine AI models extensively to meet their needs.
