What is Microsoft 365?

Microsoft 365 is a cloud-based productivity suite that gives you access to Microsoft apps like PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive. 

How to Access Microsoft 365

Go to microsoft365.tamu.edu and log in with your NetID@tamu.edu and NetID password to use the apps online or download your favorite applications. Microsoft 365 apps can be downloaded on any device like a laptop, iPad, or smartphone. 

Apps We Love

Microsoft 365 gives you access to all the applications Microsoft has to offer. This productivity suite includes applications for writing, accounting, planning, presentations, video conferencing, and storage - all from ONE account. These apps are incredibly useful for collaborative projects and remote learning. 

Microsoft Teams is extremely useful for collaborating with groups. Teams is the hub of Microsoft’s best collaboration tools such as chat, video conferencing, and file sharing. Several features set it apart from other collaborative tools: 

• Chat. Chat with your groups, a few classmates, or one on one.
• Teams and channels. Teams are made up of channels, i.e. conversations between teammates. Inside channels, you can hold on-the-spot meetings, have conversations, and share files. Team members can invite other members to different conversations, just like Slack.
• Store documents in SharePoint. Every team that uses Microsoft Teams has a site in SharePoint Online with a document library folder. All files shared across conversations in your team will automatically save to this folder.
• Online video calling and screen sharing. Enjoy seamless and fast video calls to classmates using the simple desktop sharing function for real-time collaboration.
• Online meetings. Enhance your communications with online meetings that can host up to 10,000 users — but hopefully, your group projects won’t involve this many people! And with audio conferencing, anyone can join an online meeting via phone.
