Dan Schmiedt has been named Associate Vice President of Enterprise Networks for the Texas A&M Division of Information Technology.

Schmiedt comes to the post from Clemson University, where he served as Executive Director of Network Services and Telecommunications. He has been involved in higher education IT since 1994, when he was a student worker in Clemson’s computer labs. He has since served as Director of Network Services and Chief Network Engineer for the university.

Dee Childs, Texas A&M Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, said Schmiedt will play an important role in the mission of the division and the university.

“Dan will lead his team in strategically developing and executing a plan that supports a highly available and secure network across the university and multiple campuses,” she said.
